How we test betting apps in India

Every app listed above was installed on a real phone, funded with real money and pushed through a real withdrawal. The last step is the one that separates a working app from a pretty one.

Most comparison sites rank by bonus size. We think that is backwards. A 200 per cent welcome offer looks generous until you read that it carries 40x wagering and expires in seven days, at which point it is not an offer at all. It is a lock on your own deposit.

The deposit test

We fund each account with a small amount, usually a few hundred rupees, using UPI. Then we note three things: whether the money arrives instantly, whether the app charges anything on top, and which UPI handles actually go through. That last one moves around a lot. An app that accepted a particular bank in March may quietly stop accepting it by June, and no announcement is made.

Withdrawals get the same treatment. We request a payout, start a timer and write down what actually happened, not what the terms page promised.

What the bonus really costs

Read the wagering number before the bonus number. If a site offers you 10,000 rupees at 35x, you need to stake 350,000 rupees before any of it becomes yours. Most players never get there. A smaller bonus at 20x is worth more in practice, and a cashback offer with no wagering at all is often worth more than both.

Game weighting matters too. Slots usually count 100 per cent toward wagering. Live tables often count 10 per cent, sometimes zero. So if teen patti and andar bahar are what you actually want to play, a slots-heavy bonus is close to useless for you.

Where the games come from

The name on the app is rarely the name on the game. Aviator belongs to Spribe. Crazy time and lightning roulette come from Evolution. The teen patti and andar bahar tables that most Indian players use are dealt by Ezugi studios.

This matters because the game behaves identically no matter which app you open it in. Return to player, table limits, side bets, all of it is set by the studio. What changes between apps is the bonus, the deposit method and how fast you get paid.

What we cannot tell you

Whether it is legal where you live. Indian gambling law is set at state level and it is genuinely unsettled, with several states banning online real money games outright and others leaving the question open. Nothing here is legal advice, and if you are unsure about your own state, that is a question for a lawyer rather than a comparison site.

We also cannot promise an operator will stay good. Payment methods break, licences change, and an app that paid in a day last quarter can slow down without warning. The date at the top of this page shows when we last checked. Anything older than three months, treat with suspicion.
